Your Dream Trip To Ireland Just Became Much More Affordable

Budget airfare for 2017 is just the beginning of the savings you could make

There's no point denying it, that dream trip to Ireland can start to look damn expensive when all your plans are factored in. Airfare, transport, accommodation, spending money... the list goes on but it really doesn't have to be like that. We're sick and tired of visitors to Ireland being taken for a ride so we decided to do something about it.

We build your trip with you and we're available every step of the way no matter how you choose to travel. As far as we're concerned, the only thing worse than an inflexible itinerary is an unnecessarily stretched budget. And on that note, there's some very good news.

WOW Air, along with their nordic neighbours Norwegian, have really opened up the budget transatlantic route over the past couple of years. North American visitors to Ireland have seen this benefit more than anyone and the savings that can be made (at the expense of a little comfort) in 2017 are unlike anything we've seen before.

Today, WOW Air added Pittsburgh to their list of US connections from June 2017. That brings to seven the number of cities that are connected to Ireland (via Reykjavik) on the low-cost carrier's network. Pittsburgh joins New York, Boston, L.A., San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Miami in offering travellers an extremely cost effective means of reaching Ireland and that can only be good news ahead of your travel plans in 2017.

So let's take a look at what that actually means for you. As a random example, we checked what it would cost to fly from Newark to Dublin for a week in May, one of the most pleasant times of the year to visit. Flying out on May 2nd and returning on May 10th can be done for as little as $490 per person at the time of writing.

This however, is not an advertisement for WOW Air and the truth of the matter is that, for quite a few cities, the emergence of these low cost carriers has resulted in some stiff competition. For just $18 extra, Lufthansa and United can save you a stop-off in Reykjavik and cut your travel time by three hours.

As much as we appreciate the competition that the likes of WOW Air have brought to the market, we certainly know which of those two deals we'd be likely to choose. And the good news is that the savings don't have to end there.

To put it bluntly, this idea of Ireland as an expensive travel destination is a load of old nonsense. Yes, accommodation can be damn expensive at times but it really doesn't have to be. Staying in castles may be the dream scenario but that's unlikely to be what you really remember from your stay here. There's simply too much to be seeing and doing to be overly concerned with your accommodation. That's not to say we'll organise any old room for you, far from it, but if $200 a night accommodation is not in your budget then we want to find the best possible accommodation options that are in your budget.

To help give you an idea of the kind of cost savings we can help you make, we've put together the following price guide for an eight day, self-drive, itinerary to fit in with the flight options listed above. The prices listed are per person and they're merely indicative of what you can expect. They're not the only options available to you. We don't believe in cookie-cutter packages, every traveller is different and we work on a case-by-case basis to ensure you get the perfect price for you.

Similarly, if you'd prefer a fully guided experience, we also have you covered on that front.

So, with all that said, the only question left is - what are you waiting for? Contact us now or send an email direct to gary@yourwayireland.com and let us know about your travel plans.
